Academix Attendance Tracking

Attendance That Keeps Up However Class Happens

In The Academix, teachers mark attendance from the web panel or the mobile app, and students can mark themselves present by scanning the class QR code in the app. Every mark lands in one record, viewable per student or per class.

Students working together during a class session

A spoken English tutor with eight students in one room and a college with a 200-seat lecture hall don't need attendance handled the same way. One tutor can glance around and know who's there; the other can't call a roll every session without losing class time. The Academix lets each classroom choose how attendance is marked.

That setting has two positions. In tutor-controlled mode, the teacher marks attendance, either by marking the roster on web or mobile or by having students scan the class QR code. In student-controlled mode, students mark themselves by scanning the class QR code in the app, which suits a larger class where confirming every student by hand doesn't scale. Each classroom is set separately, so small groups and large sections can work differently.

Classrooms can also record attendance once for the whole day or separately for each subject taught in them, which matters for back-to-back subject periods. Whatever the combination, it feeds the same attendance history per student.

1

Students Scan, Teachers Confirm

In a physical classroom, students scan the class QR code in the app to mark themselves present. Teachers can also mark the roster themselves, which is how attendance is taken for live online sessions.

2

One Attendance History, Not Three Registers

A student who attends in person on Monday and joins online on Wednesday still has one attendance record, not a paper register for one format and a spreadsheet for the other. Institutes running multiple branches see the same structure across every branch.

3

Patterns Show Up Before They Become a Problem

Attendance reports per student and per class make a run of missed sessions visible early, and a low-attendance alert can reach the right staff in the daily early-warning email.

How Attendance Mode Gets Set, Per Classroom

1

An Admin or Tutor Chooses the Marking Mode for That Classroom

Marking mode is set in classroom preferences. Whoever administers the classroom picks tutor-controlled or student-controlled, and the choice is saved for that classroom.

2

Tutor-Controlled: the Tutor Stays in the Loop

The tutor marks the roster on web or mobile, or has students scan the class QR code. Marking authority stays with the tutor.

3

Student-Controlled: Students Scan the Class QR Code

Students open the scanner in the app and scan the class QR code to mark themselves present. The QR code on the teacher's screen refreshes every 30 seconds, so a photo of an old code doesn't work.

4

Day-Wise or Subject-Wise Scoping, Set Alongside the Mode

A classroom records attendance either once per day or separately per subject. Day-wise suits a single-subject batch; subject-wise suits several subjects taught in the same classroom in one day.

5

Every Combination Feeds the Same Attendance Record

Whichever mode and scoping a classroom uses, the result lands in the same attendance history per student, so reports look the same across classrooms.

How Can We Help You?

In tutor-controlled mode, the teacher marks attendance on web or mobile, or has students scan the class QR code. In student-controlled mode, students mark themselves by scanning the class QR code in the app. Each classroom can use a different mode.

Where the Rest of the Detail Lives

QR scanning, bulk roster marking and student attendance history are covered on the Dynamic Attendance page.
